Voice chat
Kettlewood has proximity voice chat: you hear the players around you, louder when they're close. It's optional. Without the mod you play exactly as before, you just don't hear anyone.
Install it (once, about 5 minutes)
- Install the Modrinth App (modrinth.com/app) or Prism Launcher, if you don't use one already.
- Create a new profile: Fabric, the same Minecraft version as Kettlewood.
- Add the mod Simple Voice Chat to that profile. The launcher adds Fabric API for you.
- Start that profile and join Kettlewood as usual.
Kettlewood is Java Edition only.
Using it
- V opens the settings: pick your microphone, test it, set the volume.
- By default you talk with push to talk; you can switch to voice activation in the settings.
- G opens groups: a private channel for you and your friends, wherever they are.
- You can mute any player from the settings. They won't know.
The rules still apply
Voice is part of Kettlewood: the same rules as the chat, the same respect. Voice isn't recorded by the server and recording by players is switched off, so if someone is a problem, mute them and tell a member of staff (/msg, see Help & reporting).
