Getting around

The balloon

At the belvedere by the river, the balloon takes new players to a random spot in the wilderness, 500 to 3 000 blocks from town; one flight per player. Step into the basket and pull the lever (or click “Cast off”). Want to land near a friend? Type /balloon friend <name>. Your friend accepts, and you'll land close to them.

The Old Oak

Leave town by the west gate and follow the little path: over the wooden bridge, through the sunken lane, to the Old Oak. A giant tree with a staircase inside its trunk and a lookout over the whole town. Its clearing is where the town meets for events.

The Gate of the Diggings

Under the town hall, the Gate of the Diggings leads to the Diggings, a small world to mine freely, renewed every month. A portal at its outpost brings you back.

The Nether roads

The Nether Gate, a small triumphal arch south of the town hall, leads to the Nether hub: a closed, lit hall with four roads (north, south, east, west), each with a footpath and a blue-ice lane for boats. One block in the Nether is eight in the overworld: the roads run 128 blocks, which is 1 024 at home. At each road's end, a sign shows where to build your own portal.

No portals may be lit within 128 blocks of the Nether Gate (32 around the hub); it keeps everyone's trips home pointing to town.

Back to town

/spawn takes you to the square, in front of the town hall.
