Pets
Tame a wolf, a cat or a parrot in game, the vanilla way, and it's yours. The store adds looks and comfort, never strength: a pet from the store behaves exactly like one you tamed yourself.
For everyone, store or not: your tamed pets are safe from other players, and /pet hide hides other players' pet name plates and trails.
A pet from the store: Hearthside
- A wolf, a cat or a parrot, delivered tamed, in the colour you pick (9 wolves, 11 cats, 5 parrots). It appears next to you, sitting, the next time you're online.
- It comes with Hearth Return (below).
- The bundle: a Hearthside pet with a Name Tag and a Dyed Collar (the collar fits dogs only).
For any pet you own
Stand next to your pet, or look at it, and use the command. Everything is yours to keep and to change later for free.
- The Name Tag: a small name above your pet, Biscuit, Odo's cat, in cream, sage, ochre or rose.
/pet name <name> [colour]; renaming is free. - The Dyed Collar (dogs): ochre, moss green or burgundy, colours no dye gives.
/pet collar <ochre|moss|burgundy>. It's only a look: it doesn't protect your dog, and it stays on. No dog?/pet collar swaptrades an unused collar for a Kennel / Hearth Cushion. - The Kennel / the Hearth Cushion: your pet's own spot at home, with its name. Stand where it should go and use
/pet bed; only where you can build. Your pet goes back to it to rest,/pet staysends it there, and it waits there while you're offline. Break it and you can place it again. - Trails: Ember Wisp, Meadow Petals or Moonlit Dust, a few soft specks behind your pet when it moves, nothing when it sits.
/pet trail <ember|meadow|moonlit|off>; one trail works for all your pets, one at a time. - Hearth Return: if your pet would die, it goes home to rest instead (its own bed, or else your bed or respawn anchor, or the town spawn), at full health. For one pet, or for all your pets, now and later. Bought once, never again.
With the ranks
- Resident: a Name Tag. Notable: a Name Tag and a Dyed Collar (dogs only; no dog?
/pet collar swap).
Don't want to see them?
/pet hide hides other players' name tags, beds' signs and trails, for you only; your own pets stay as they are. /pet hide again shows them. /pet shows your pets and what you have left to use.
