Trading with players
/trade opens a shared window between two players standing close to each other. One puts in the items, the other puts in the Embers (only Embers, not experience), and nothing changes hands until you both confirm.
How to trade
- Stand within 10 blocks of the other player and type
/trade <name>. - They answer with
/trade accept <name>(or/trade deny <name>). The window opens for both of you. - The seller puts the items in their side of the window. The buyer clicks the Embers button and writes the price on the sign that opens.
- Check the other side, then click confirm. When you've both confirmed, a 5 second countdown runs, and the trade goes through.
The rules of the window
- Items are sold for Embers. One side puts in items, the other pays; you can't swap items for items, and you can't hand over items for 0 Embers. To give something away, use the post office.
- Embers on their own can be sent, like
/pay. - Up to 5,000 ✦ per trade.
- If either of you changes the offer, the other's confirmation is cancelled: look again before confirming.
- Closing the window, walking away, using a command or logging out cancels the trade; everything goes back where it was.
- Some things can't be traded: items the server gave you (hats, keepsakes, torn pages, things from the store or a rank), shulker boxes and bundles.
- Two accounts on the same connection can't trade with each other.
/trade togglestops other players from sending you requests.
Embers have no real-money value: trading real money for Embers or items isn't allowed. Every trade is logged for 90 days, to settle disputes and stop scams; see the privacy policy.
